The Society Incorporated
The Harbor City Maryland Chapter (HCMC) was chartered by 17 progressive women in lovely Prince Georges County, Maryland in 2017. We are among the many chapters of The Society, Incorporated “Supporting Youth in the Arts,” a national organization with over 37 years of history.
Our mission is a single focus, “To support and assist youth development in the arts.” We are committed to excellence in what we do and achieve. The chapter members are committed to giving their time, talent and treasures on a platform of friendship.
As the chapter president, it is with much pride that we have established partnerships with two organizations that offer development in the arts to youth across the county.
We are proud and honored to partner with Prince Georges County NAACP chapter of ACT-SO, and the Coalition for African Americans in the Performing Arts (CAAPA).
Since embracing these partnerships, we have awarded scholarships, aided in program and performance support, mentoring and coaching.
We are true believers in collaboration to help build capacity and resources and support programs. It is our desire to reach out, connect, support and enjoy youth who are excelling in the arts.
